World record holder in women's 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan, is celebrating her induction as the youngest member into the University of Texas El Paso’s Hall of Fame, seven years post-graduation.
Amusan, along with Beto Bautista (men’s basketball), Izabela Piekarska (women’s basketball), Tony Tolbert (football), and Brandon Wolfram (men’s basketball), were honored on Tuesday, October 15, during the 21st initiation ceremony of the school.
On Sunday, the 27-year-old proudly shared, "I am the youngest female miner to join UTEP’s Hall Of Fame Class of 2024. I spent three semesters as a miner and the rest is history...God’s faithfulness is great."
She also expressed her gratitude for her time at the University, from January 2016 to August 2017, thanking her coaches, staff, and colleagues.
"Received a full-ride scholarship to maximize my athletic potential while studying full-time from January 2016 to August 2017. It took a village; I cherished every moment of being a student-athlete. To my old friends/teammates class of 2016/2017; love you all," she added.
